Frequently Asked Questions

Membership

During our beta phase, membership is by invitation only. Join the Slack channel #ee-association-beta to get your invite. You must belong to the Equal Experts Network, be an associate, or be a former employee and are based in the UK.

If you are an associate, it doesn’t matter if you have yet to find your first engagement, are actively engaged at Equal Experts, or last worked with us five years ago. If you’re part of the network.

There is no minimum commitment. You can cancel your membership at any time. No further payments will be taken, and your membership and cover will continue until the end of the period you have already paid for.

The Equal Experts Association is a Company Limited by Guarantee — a structure typically used by not-for-profit organisations. Rather than being owned by shareholders, it’s owned by its members, so as a member, you have a stake in it rather than shares in it. There are no shareholders or dividends; any surplus is reinvested in member benefits.

As a member of a Company Limited by Guarantee, your liability is limited to £1. This means if the Association is ever wound up while you are a member, or within one year after you cease to be a member, the maximum you could be asked to contribute is £1.

Payments & Billing

Your first membership payment is processed when you complete registration. After that, you’ll be charged on the same day each month.

If a payment fails, we’ll automatically retry it over the following 7 days. You’ll continue to have full access during this time. If all retries are unsuccessful, your membership will be suspended until you update your payment method. Your insurance cover will continue until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which it will lapse.

Go to Wallet > Actions > Update card details. You can change your card details at any time.

Monthly payments are non-refundable. If you cancel, you’ll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Benefits

Once you’ve signed up to a package, you’ll be able to view all your benefits and see redemption details for each one. Health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits are provided by third parties — once registered, you’ll be able to link through to their app. For some services, you’ll need to register directly with the third party to activate access.

Some benefits like the Virtual GP and retail discounts can be used by immediate family members. Check individual benefit details for family eligibility.

Contact us in the #ask-the-association Slack channel and we’ll help resolve any issues.

Your insurance becomes active once Qdos confirms your cover, and you’ll receive a confirmation email from them directly. This usually happens the same day you join or upgrade your plan.

Account & Cancellation

Go to Wallet > Actions > Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period – you’ll keep access until then.

Yes, if your email is still on the approved list, you can register again. Your previous membership history will be linked to your new account.

Go to Profile to update your name and company details. Email and passwords are managed via the Equal Experts single sign-on.
